Mount St. Mary's University

Vandergrift joined the Mount in 2002 as the Sports Information Director, and was elevated to Associate Director of Athletics in 2020.  His duties at the Mount include directing the Athletic Communications Office and oversight of the ESPN Studio.  He is also the brand manager for the athletic department with oversight of logo usage and brand standards.  Vandergrift is the sport supervision duties for men's and women's golf, women's soccer, softball, men's and women's tennis and E-Sports.  Vandergrift serves as the sports information contact for men's basketball, women's soccer, softball, men's and men's and women's tennis.

Since arriving at the Mount, Vandergrift has overseen several redesigns of the official athletic website, www.mountathletics.com, including the most recent in July of 2020 when the school joined SIDEARM Sports.  He was also instrumental in the athletic department's logo redesign and serves as the athletic department's brand manager.

Prior arriving at the Mount, Vandergrift was the Sports Information Director at Niagara University from 1996-2002 after serving a two-year stint as a graduate assistant in Niagara’s Sports Information Office.  He began is career as a student assistant in the Sports Information Office at Saint Francis U in Loretto, Pa., from 1989-93.
 
A 1993 graduate of Saint Francis where he earned his BS in mathematics with a minor in physics, Vandergrift earned a master’s degree in business administration from Niagara in 1999.
 
A native of Pittsburgh, Vandergrift resides in Littlestown, Pa., with his wife Dana.  He has four children, Anthony, Matthew, Lindsey and Zeke.
