Emmitsburg, Md. (October 17, 2017) -- Mount St. Mary's University women's tennis has announced its spring schedule for the upcoming 2017-18 season. The slate features seven dual matches at home.
Following winter break, the Mountaineers open competition in the spring semester with bouts at Towson (Jan. 27), George Mason (Jan. 28), Navy (Feb. 4), Howard (Feb. 9), and Lehigh (Feb. 24) before heading to Orlando for their annual spring trip spanning February 27 – March 3.
The Mount returns from spring break with a dual matchup at James Madison (March 18) and three dual matches at home against Bucknell (March 21), Northeast Conference opponent Sacred Heart (March 24), Morgan State (March 25), and Hampton (March 25). The Mountaineers finish up the month of March by traveling to St. Francis Brooklyn (March 28), and Wagner (March 29) for two dual conference matchups.
The Mountaineers close out the final month of the regular season with four dual matches against Loyola (April 4), Saint Francis PA (April 7), UMES (April 8), and Harford Community College (April 8) in Emmitsburg, and a road match at Delaware (April 15). Senior Day will be during the April 7 matchup against Saint Francis PA.
The Mount returns five of eight players from a season ago, including its top-three singles players in Alexa Quintanilla, Hannah Davis and Emma Blake. The team also added newcomers Megan Gamble, Mia Pittman, and Megan Smith, who entered their rookie season with the squad this fall.
