MOUNT UPDATE:  The Mountaineers fell to Penn, 1-0, on the road on Sunday to drop to 0-6 on the season.  Maggie Barron made 10 saves to keep the Mountaineers in the game.  Jaylyn Chandler led the offense with four shots, including the team's best scoring chance in the second half.  Elisabeth Rockhill leads the Mount with 16 shots this season while Charlotte Elrod (1.97 GAA, 319 MP), Barron (1.50 GAA, 180 MP) and Sydni Surowiec (4.00 GAA, 45 MP) have all seen action in goal.

ABOUT AMERICAN:  American dropped games to  Richmond and Binghamton last weekend to fall to 3-3 on the season.  The Eagles play at Longwood on Friday before hosting the Mountaineers on Sunday.  Fisayo Iluyomade leads the team with four goals while Julian Saling has a team-best three assists.  Amy Krotine (0.67 GAA, 135 MP), Morgan Lang (1.33 GAA, 135 MP) and Ryleigh Brown (2.00 GAA, 270 MP) have all seen action in the goal this season.

ALL-TIME SERIES:  American holds a 17-3-1 advantage in the all-time series with the Mount that dates back to 1992.  Last year, the Eagles posted a 3-0 home win over the Mountaineers.  The Mount's last win over American was a 2-1 overtime victory at home on August 28, 2016.  The Mount is 0-11-1 all-time on the road against the Eagles.

LAST YEAR'S MEETING:  American downed the Mount, 3-0, at home last year in the season opener for both teams.  Kyanna Alleyne scored in the first half to give American a 1-0 advantage, and Jordan Tate and Gabriela Maldonado recorded second-half goals to extend the lead.  Charlotte Elrod made five saves for the Mount in the game.  Click HERE for the full release.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE:  The Mountaineers open Northeast Conference play at home against Saint Francis U on Friday, September 20, with a 7:00 p.m. kick-off.  The game is a rematch of last year's NEC semifinals won by the Red Flash.
