ABOUT THE MOUNT
The Mount's roster consists of 13 freshmen, three sophomores, four juniors, six seniors and four graduate students. Besides the freshmen, Coach Douglas has added four new student-athletes to her roster as well. Izzy Durkin is a junior from Darnestown, Maryland, Jordan Carpenter is a senior from Hagerstown, Maryland, Julie Crochet is a graduate student from Castres, France, and Lauren Judkins is a graduate student from McMinnville, Tennessee. In Mount St. Mary's inaugural season as a Division I program, the Mount finished the fall 15's season with a 0-6 mark, and a 2-16 record for the whole year. The Mountaineers picked up their first win in the spring 7's season when they shut out Citadel, 39-0, in the Queen's Cup 7's Tournament. The Mount picked up their second win of the season in the Pioneers 7's Tournament when they blanked LIU Post, 36-0. In the Rugby Breakdown's NIRA preseason poll, Mount St. Mary's were picked 13th.
SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
According to the Rugby Breakdown, The Pioneers were picked 12th in the NIRA preseason poll after finishing the last 15's season with a 4-3 record and with a 14-9 mark for the whole year. In their fall season finale last year, the Sacred Heart women's rugby team fell to American International University, 69-15.
ALL-TIME SERIES WITH SACRED HEART
The Mountaineers and Pioneers have only met once since the Mount joined Division I. In last season's Pioneers 7's Tournament, Sacred Heart topped the Mount 41-0. The Pioneers held full control of the game after they built a 24-0 lead at halftime. Isabel Cuddy scored two tries and recorded three tackles to lead Sacred Heart.
