Boardman, Ohio (September 2, 2019)--Michaila Cheung carded a personal-best score to pace the Mount St. Mary's women's golf team at the season-opening Roseanne Schwartz Invitational held at the Mill Creek Golf Course on Monday.
Cheung shot a 78 to finish the first round in a tie for 10th place to pace the Mountaineers. Olivia Gardenhour shot an 85, freshman Taylor Woodward a 91 in her Mount debut, and Sophia Vargas a 122 to round out the Mount's four competitors. Youngstown State leads the field of six teams with a score of 287, followed by Cleveland State (304). Niagara (312), Saint Francis U (330), Capital University (358) and the Mount (376).
The tournament concludes tomorrow.
