The Mount St. Mary's women's golf team resumes competition at the Hoya Invitational on April 8-9 at the Four Streams Golf Club in Beallsville, Maryland.
The Mountaineers competed in the Monmouth Spring Shootout on Tuesday in Neptune, New Jersey. Sophomore Olivia Gardenhour took home the individual title to highlight competition, while freshman Michaila Cheung also posted a solid showing at the event, finishing in a tie for third. In tough conditions Gardenhour prevailed for the top individual score as she fired a round of 81 (+9) to claim the Mount's first individual win of the season. Cheung finished just behind her with a round of 83 (+11), which placed her in a tie for third place.
Monmouth earned the tournament victory with a team score of 348, while Drew University took second place with a 375. St. Francis Brooklyn and Mount St. Mary's weren't eligible for team competition with less than four golfers competing.
Following the Hoya Invitational, the Mountaineers head to the Northeast Conference Championships spanning April 12-14 at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Florida.
