EMMITSBURG, Md. – Mount St. Mary's women's golf head coach Kevin Farrell has announced his 2012 fall slate. The Mount will play in five events in the fall portion of the 2012-13 schedule, including traveling to the Highlander Invitational for the first time in team history.
The Mount opens the season at the Tignanelli Towson Invitational on Sept. 9-10. The 36-hole event will move to the Towson Golf & Country Club in 2012 after the event was played at Hillendale Country Club in Phoenix, Md., last year. It will mark the fourth consecutive year the Mountaineers will open the fall season at the Towson event.
The squad will then travel down to the Highlander Invitational hosted by Radford on Sept. 23. The competition will take place at the Draper Valley Golf Club in Draper, Va., and it will be the first time Mount St. Mary's will participate in the event.
For the fourth-straight year and sixth time in program history, the Mount will play in the ECAC Championships on Sept. 28-29. The two-day event returns to the Twisted Dunes Golf Club in Egg Harbor Township, N.J., for the third-consecutive championship.
The Mountaineers head back to the Rutgers Fall Invitational on Oct. 5-6. After a one-year absence, Mount St. Mary's participated in the Scarlet Knights fall event for the seventh time in program history last year and the team will be making its eighth appearance in 2012.
Mount St. Mary's will conclude the fall slate by heading up to Connecticut to participate in the Sacred Heart Fall Invitational on Oct. 21-22. The Mount will be heading back to its Northeast Conference rival's fall event for the second time in program history and the first since the 2005.
