INTERCOLLEGIATE SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIP
Tuesday, April 16 – Saturday, April 20
Dayton, Ohio | Poelking Lanes South
Mount St. Mary's freshman bowler Rebecca Dodson was one of 24 bowlers to earn a berth to the Intercollegiate Singles Championship, which will take place on April 16-20 at Poelking Lanes South in Dayton, Ohio.
Dodson earned her spot at the Championship after placing fourth out of 226 competitors at the sectional qualifier in Illinois back in March. Dodson rolled games of 192, 207, 212, 201, 212 and 247 for a 1,271 total pin-fall (211.83 average), and she became one of eight bowlers to earn the ISC berth out of Illinois as it hosted the largest field of bowlers out of the four sectional locations. Individuals from their respective sectional in Tennessee, New Jersey, and Texas, will make up the rest of the field.
Competition will begin on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., with all 24 bowlers participating in a six-game total pin-fall qualifying round. After the opening round, all 24 bowlers will be placed into the championship bracket, with the eight highest totals from qualifying receiving a bye in round one. The remaining 16 will go head-to-head in round one based on seeding. The final four bowlers left standing at the end will compete on the TV Show aired by CBS Sports.
