Somerset, N.J. (February 27, 2019) -- Mount St. Mary's freshman guard Michaela Harrison has been named the Northeast Conference (NEC) Co-Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Wednesday. It marks the sixth time this season that Harrison has earned at least a share of the award.
Harrison averaged 18.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game in contests against Bryant and Central Connecticut. Harrison secured her fourth 20-plus point performance of the season on Saturday at Bryant, as the freshman guard went 9-of-21 from the field and drained 4-of-12 from long range. In Monday's win at CCSU, Harrison went 3-of-6 from beyond the arc to register a team-high 15 points, which marked her 14th straight game in double-figures. The rookie also added seven rebounds and three steals in the tilt. Harrison sits just one three-pointer shy of tying Daly Sullivan's record for most threes in a season by a Mount St. Mary's freshman.
The Mount hosts Fairleigh Dickinson this Saturday, March 2 at 1 p.m.
