Somerset, N.J. (February 6, 2019) – Mount St. Mary's freshman guard Michaela Harrison has been named the Northeast Conference (NEC) Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Wednesday. Harrison has now earned the award in three straight weeks, and a league-high five times overall this season.
Harrison led the Mountaineers with a team-high 24 points while also adding six rebounds and three assists in Saturday's contest against Saint Francis U. The Cleveland, Ohio native drained 8-of-16 from three-point territory on the way to recording the second-highest scoring game of her career. Harrison's eight three-pointers tied Myriam Baccouche and Dominique Mazzuchi for most in a game in program history. The rookie guard has now registered double-figure points in eight straight games and ranks ninth in the NEC in scoring with 12.4 points per contest.
The Mount is back in action on February 9 for a tilt at Sacred Heart at 12 p.m. The game will be streamed live for free on ESPN3.com.
