The two teams met in the second conference game of the season back on January 7 in Loretto. The Mountaineers had a chance to win it at the buzzer on a clean look from the corner by Daly Sullivan, but her shot hit off the front iron and SFU came away with a 68-66 victory. Rebecca Lee tallied a career-high 16 points in the contest to go along with 10 rebounds as she recorded her second career double-double. Juliette Lawless notched 18 points and five boards, while Bridget Birkhead (12 pts) and Michaela Harrison (11) also finished in double-figures.
>>> Mount St. Mary's knocked off St. Francis Brooklyn, 78-75, on Monday night at Knott Arena for the team's third straight win and fourth in the last five games. Lawless posted an efficient 11-for-19 shooting night, including a 4-of-6 mark from downtown as she finished one point shy of her career-high with 28. The performance was Lawless' ninth 20-point game of the season, while she also contributed a team-high seven rebounds and six assists. Daly Sullivan and Michaela Harrison netted 15 points apiece and combined for eight threes in the tilt to help fuel the Mount's attack. Rebecca Lee was the other Mountaineer in double-figures, finishing with 10 points and six boards.
>>> The Mount's 78-75 win over St. Francis Brooklyn on Monday made it three straight wins and four victories in the last five games for the team. The team's longest win streak of the season came in late November through early December when they topped Towson, Loyola, Gardner-Webb, and UMBC in four straight.
>>> The Mountaineers took home a pair of NEC weekly awards on Wednesday. Juliette Lawless was named the Player of the Week and Michaela Harrison earned Rookie of the Week honors. Lawless took home Player of the Week honors for the second time this season. The senior averaged 23.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 5.5 assists while shooting 51.7 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from downtown in wins over LIU and St. Francis Brooklyn. Harrison collected the Rookie of the Week Award for the second straight week and a league-high fourth time this season. The Cleveland, Ohio native averaged 16.0 points and 2.5 assists while draining a combined seven threes in wins against LIU and St. Francis Brooklyn.
