Somerset, N.J. (January 23, 2019) – Mount St. Mary's freshman guard Michaela Harrison has been named the Northeast Conference (NEC) women's basketball rookie of the week for the third time this season.
Harrison averaged 14.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per game in contests at Wagner and Fairleigh Dickinson over the week. The Cleveland, Ohio native knocked down four three-pointers, including a trio in the fourth quarter, en route to a team-high 16 points on Saturday at Wagner. Harrison followed it up with 12 points, five rebounds, and two steals on Monday, as she helped lead the Mountaineers to a 63-47 road victory against Fairleigh Dickinson. Harrison, who has recorded double-digit points in five straight games, ranks 11th in the league in scoring (11.3 ppg) and second amongst NEC rookies.
Harrison and the Mountaineers return to action this Saturday (Jan. 26) on Winter Homecoming against LIU Brooklyn at 2 p.m.
