Somerset, N.J. (December 3, 2018) – Mount St. Mary's senior guard Juliette Lawless has been named the Northeast Conference (NEC) Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Lawless produced a complete performance to power Mount St. Mary's past Loyola in the annual intra-state Catholic Clash. The Mahopac, NY native connected on 64.3 percent of her field goal attempts, and poured in a career-high 29 points in the 77-67 road win. The 2017-18 NEC Most Improved Player filled the stat line with eight rebounds, a team-high six assists, two blocks, and a steal against the Greyhounds. The veteran guard notched 13 of her 29 points in the second quarter, as she went a perfect 5-5 from the field including two threes. Lawless' 29 points were the second most by an NEC player this season, only behind her teammate Michaela Harrison's 30 point outing against Towson last Saturday.
Lawless and the rest of the Mountaineers remain on the road at Gardner-Webb tonight at 6 p.m. and at UMBC Thursday, December 6 at 7 p.m.
