MOUNT ST. MARY'S TRACK AND FIELD
The Mount St. Mary's men's and women's outdoor track and field teams are set for a busy weekend with athletes competing at the Hopkins-Loyola Invitational, the Messiah Invitational, the Bucknell Outdoor Classic and the George Mason Spring Invitational.
MOUNT UPDATE: Erin Sample and Justin Kimble brought home gold medals to pace the Mount St. Mary's track and field teams at the Colonial Relays last weekend. Sample won the Championship Division of the shot put while Kimble took home first in the 100m dash. Christopher Gabor won the decathlon at the Sam Adams Combined Events Invitational while the Mount also had athletes at the Towson Invitational. Click HERE for the full release.
NEC HONORS: Christopher Gabor and Rene Rosso each collected NEC weekly honors this past week. Gabor won the decathlon at the Sam Adams Combined Events Invitational to garner NEC Field Athlete of the Week honors while Rosso finished third in the heptathlon to earn the NEC Rookie of the Week award. KIMBLE BREAKS 47-YEAR OLD 100m DASH RECORD: Junior Justin Kimble broke the oldest record in the Mount record books when he ran a 10.40 at the Raleigh Relays. Tony Ambush held the record for 47 years when he posted a time of 10.44h on May 26, 1972, at the NCAA Championships in Ashland, Ohio.
UP NEXT: The Mount will have athletes at the prestigious Penn Relays on April 23-27.
