Mount Update:  Mount St. Mary's swept a doubleheader at Coppin State on Wednesday.  The Mount won the opening game, 2-1, in eight innings before capturing a 7-3 victory in game two.  Freshman Amanda Berkley took a no-hitter to the bottom of the eighth in the game one win.  Morgan Alisauckas hit a two-run home run in the eighth to give the Mount a 2-0 lead, and Berkley was able to close out the victory, tossing a two-hitter with five strikeouts.  Alisauckas went 3-for-3 with a home run to lead the Mount to the 7-3 win in game two.  Jordan Weaver struck out nine in a complete-game victory.

About the Blackbirds:  LIU Brooklyn lost to No. 25 Hofstra, 13-4, on Wednesday to fall to 15-24 on the season.  The Blackbirds are 4-5 in Northeast Conference play.  The LIU offense is led by Nereyda Gutierrez (.380, 4 HR, 22 RBI), Victoria Zamora (.355, 22 RBI) and Ryleigh Bermea (.314, 6 HR, 30 RBI).  Erynn Sobieski is the top pitcher with a 7-10 record and a 5.32 ERA in 26 appearances (16 starts).

The All-Time Series:  LIU Brooklyn holds a 45-12 lead in the all-time series with the Mount that began in 1984.  The Mount holds a 7-15 record at home against the Blackbirds, and the two teams split a doubleheader at LIU last year.  The Mount is 5-7 against LIU over the past 12 matchups in the series.

Last Year's Meetings:  The Mount and LIU split last year's doubleheader in Brooklyn.  The Mount scored five times in the top of the eighth inning for a 9-4 victory in the opening game before the Blackbirds posted a 3-2 win in game two.  Click HERE for a full recap.

About the Seahawks:  Wagner has lost five in a row, including an 11-2 loss to St. John's on Wednesday.  The Seahawks are 12-24 overall and 2-7 in the Northeast Conference.  Karen Prihoda leads the offense with a .359 average, four home runs and 24 RBI while Stefanie Aplin is hitting .318.  Morgan Brown (5-12, 3.90 ERA) and Arielle Koerber (7-9, 4.17 ERA) are the team's top two pitchers. 

The All-Time Series:  Wagner holds a 36-13 lead in the all-time series with the Mount that began in 1990.  The Seahawks won both ends of last year's doubleheader in Staten Island.  The Mount has won four of the past six meetings in the series, and is 8-14 all-time at home against Wagner.

Last Year's Meetings:  Wagner swept last year's doubleheader in State Island, winning by scores of 2-1 and 15-3.  Kaylee Stoner went 3-for-3 in the opening game for the Mountaineers.  Lindsay Heinze went 2-for-2 in Wagner's win in game two.  For a full recap, click HERE.

News and Notes:  The Mount continues to lead the NCAA in double plays per game…The Mount has turned 25 double-plays in 32 games played this season, an average of 0.78 per game…Lindsay Heinze is hitting .462 (6-for-13) and Morgan Alisauckas .412 (7-for-17) over the past five games…Kate Wade has a team-best .367 average (11-of-30) over the past 10 games…Jordan Weaver struck out a season-best nine batters in the Mount's 7-3 win over Coppin State…Alisauckas has a six-game hit streak, and she has reached base in each of the past eight games.

Senior Day:  The Mount will honor this year's senior class of Morgan Alisauckas, Devon Hutchins, Shea McFarland and Marian Ruf prior to Sunday's doubleheader against Wagner.  The Senior Day Ceremony is slated to begin at 11:40 a.m.
