March 14, 2018--The Mount St. Mary's softball team has moved today's scheduled doubleheader at Morgan State to tomorrow. The two teams will now play one game at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, at Morgan State's Lois T. Murray Field.

MOUNT UPDATE: The Mountaineers went 1-3 at the Towson Tiger Clash last weekend and enter the doubleheader at Morgan State with a 7-12 record. The Mount split a pair of games with Fairfield while falling twice to host Towson over the weekend. Lindsay Heinze leads the Mount with a .309 average, four home runs and 15 RBI. Katie Olson is 2-2 with a 3.23 ERA in 11 appearances (3 starts). Amanda Berkley went 1-1 with a 2.92 ERA in 12.0 innings over the weekend at Towson, earning the win in the Mount's 2-1 victory against Fairfield.
ABOUT MORGAN STATE: Morgan State enters Wednesday's doubleheader with a 7-10 record after a 10-0 win over St. Bonaventure on Sunday. Damali Young, who leads the team with a .491 average, 17 runs scored and three home runs, went 4-for-4 at the plate in that game. Amy Begg had five strikeouts in the five-inning shutout. Begg is 5-5 with a 2.19 ERA on the season with 53 strikeouts in 60.2 innings of work.
THE ALL-TIME SERIES: The Mount holds a 15-14 lead in the all-time series with Morgan State. Last year, the Bears won two of three matchups between the two teams. The Mount fell 7-6 at home in the Mount St. Mary's Tournament before splitting a twinbill at Morgan State (W, 4-3; L, 6-11). The two squads have split the past 12 meetings in the series that began with a 16-9 Mount victory on April 24, 1996.
THIS AND THAT: Katie Olson is 2-1 with a 2.30 ERA and a pair of saves over her past 10 appearances…The Mount offense has struggled with a .201 team average…Lindsay Heinze is hitting .309 on the year…She is the lone starter hitting above .300…Heinze's four home runs this year give her 14 for her career, good for a tie for sixth on the Mount's all-time list.
