Elon, N.C. (February 18, 2018)—The Mount St. Mary's softball team dropped a pair of games on the final day of the Elon Softball Tournament today. The Mount fell to Bowling Green, 12-3, in the opening game before losing to host Elon, 8-0, in the afternoon.

Bowling Green broke open a close game with seven runs over the fifth and sixth innings to post a 12-3 win over the Mount on Sunday morning. Kaylee Stoner drilled a two-run home run for the Mountaineers in the game.
The Falcons (9-1) took advantage of three walks to plate a pair of runs in the top of the first inning. Bowling Green added three runs in the third to push the advantage to 5-0.
The Mount (0-4) cut the deficit to 5-3 with a run in the third and two more in the fourth. In the third, Stoner singled, moved to third when Morgan Alisauckas reached on an error, and then scored on Lindsay Heinze's double.
In the fourth, Jessica Nines walked, and Stoner came through with a two-run home run to left-center to make it a 5-3 game. The Falcons pushed the advantage to 8-3 in the top of the fifth, and then sealed the win with a four-run sixth.
Stoner went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, a home run, and two RBI in the game while Alisauckas was 2-for-3 at the plate. Katie Olson started and took the loss, allowing five runs in three innings of work. Jordan Weaver pitched three innings of relief.

Elon's Kiandra Mitchum tossed a no-hitter as the Phoenix defeated the Mount, 8-0, in the second game. Elon scored a run in every inning to earn the win.
Amanda Berkley started for the Mount, allowing three runs in 1.1 innings of work. Marian Ruf came on in relief, and allowed three runs (two earned) in 3.2 innings while Jordan Weaver allowed a pair of unearned runs in 0.1 innings.
