Mount St. Mary's Men's Tennis Topped By James Madison On Sunday
Harrisonburg, Virginia (February 3, 2019) - The Mount St. Mary's men's tennis team was topped by James Madison 7-0 on Sunday afternoon. With the loss, the Mount drops to 1-4 on the year and James Madison moves to 4-1 with the win. 
The Dukes won the point from doubles competition after taking the number one and number two flights. Paul Mendoza and Tate Steinour downed Alonso Garcia and Gabriel Santos 6-2 in the first flight while Gonzalo Adis and Josh Raymundo topped Evan Hine and Jean Armstrong 6-2 in the second flight. James Madison completed the doubles sweep after Damon Roberts and William Karpinski defeated Parth Sharma and Chris Lindsey 6-4 in the final flight.
In singles action, the Dukes swept all six flights and did not allow the Mountaineers to force a third tie-breaker set in any of the flights. After winning the first two flights, James Madison clinched the match after Gonzalo Adis toppled Jean Armstrong 6-2, 6-0 in the number four flight.
The Mount St. Mary's men's tennis team heads to Carnegie Mellon for a match on Saturday, February 16.
