Jackson Wood And Brandon Wortkotter Tabbed All-NEC First Team For Doubles

Somerset, NJ (May 3, 2017) -- The Mount St. Mary's University men's tennis duo of freshman Jackson Wood and senior Brandon Wortkotter were rewarded for their strong 2017-18 season by earning a place on the Northeast Conference All-Conference First Team in doubles, it was announced today by the league office. Wood was also tabbed to the Northeast Conference All-Rookie Team as well after having a tremendous first year.

The Mount's doubles duo finished second in overall in the number one doubles flight in the NEC with a 11-10 record. Wood and Wortkotter went 6-1 in doubles in NEC play which was good for third overall and first in the first flight. 

The Mountaineer's freshman earned All-NEC Rookie Team rights after an impressive first season finishing the season with a singles record of 18-14 and a doubles record of 23-14. 

In NEC Tournament action, both Wood and Wortkotter won their singles flights for the only points the Mount scored in the NEC Quarterfinals against Fairleigh Dickinson.
