The Final Day Of The Men's Tennis Navy Gold Invitational Wraps Up

Annapolis, Md. (October 29, 2017) -- The final day of the men's tennis Navy Gold Invitational wrapped up early Sunday afternoon. 



Jackson Wood could not compete in the fifth place game due to an injury but still walked away from the tournament with sixth place in flight A of singles competition. Brandon Wortkotter recorded seventh place after receiving the walkover victory. 

Parth Sharma and Zachary Burau did not play the eleventh place match that would have placed the teammates against each other in flight B.

Freshman, Evan Hine took home eighth place in flight C of singles action after being topped 6-1, 6-3 by Saint Peter's Igor Khovorostyan. Jean Armstrong won fifteenth place in flight C after picking up the walkover win over Loyola's Tyler Blessing. 


Wood and Wortkotter defeated Navy's Kahatapitiya and Martin 6-4 to take home thirteenth place in doubles action. The Mount duo of Sharma and Burau won fifteenth place after recording the walkover victory in doubles competition. Armstrong and Lindsey walked away with 25th place in the doubles bracket after the 6-4 victory.

The Mountaineers return to action after winter break for a dual match at George Mason Sunday, January 28th.
