SETTING THE SCENE
The Mount St. Mary's University men's tennis team is set for the three-day Mount Invitational spanning October 6 - 8 in Emmitsburg. The first day of competition begins at 2 p.m. on Friday, followed by 9 a.m. starts on Saturday and Sunday.

ABOUT THE MOUNT
The Mount men are coming off the Loyola Invitational two weekends ago. The invitational was a 'Points of the Compass' format, with each team consisting of two players and each round consisting of a doubles match and two singles matches. The winner of the best-of-three advances to the next round. Jackson Wood and Jean Armstrong took home fifth place after defeating Loyola's Cash and Burch 2-1 in the finals of the North bracket. The Mount duo topped Cash and Burch 6-3 in the doubles match and Wood defeated Cash 6-3, 6-3 but Armstrong was edged 6-2, 6-2. The freshman duo of Evan Hine and Parth Sharma were topped 2-1 by Johns Hopkins' Saferan and Hogan for seventh place. The Blue Jay's duo defeated Hine and Sharma 6-2 in the doubles match, and Saferan blanked Hine 6-1, 6-0, but Sharma edged Hogan 5-7, 6-1, 10-5. Brandon Wortkotter and Zachary Burau recorded eleventh place after taking down teammates Chris Lindsey and Sean McNulty 3-0. Wortkotter and Burau topped Lindsey and McNulty 6-2 for the doubles decision, and Wortkotter topped McNulty 6-1, 6-4 and Burau defeated Lindsey 6-2, 6-2.
