Mount Update: The Mount is coming off a 6-1 win over the Univ. of the District of Columbia on Thursday afternoon. The Mount took five of the six singles matches and the doubles point to earn the victory. Mount St. Mary's is 5-2 at home this season.
About the Patriots: George Mason defeated Howard, 5-2, on Thursday to move to 6-9 on the year. Jorge Osuna plays at No. 1 singles for the Patriots while Kevin McMillen (No. 2 singles) leads the team with 11 singles wins.
The All-Time Series with George Mason: Mount St. Mary's is 5-18 all-time against George Mason since moving to NCAA Division I in 1988-89. The Patriots have won the past two meetings between the schools. The Mount's last win over George Mason was a 4-3 victory on April 18, 2006. The Patriots won the last matchup in the series, 7-0, on March 29, 2008.

Mostowtt Moving Up Career Singles List...Senior Thad Mostowtt has moved into a tie for seventh place on the Mount's all-time singles wins list. Mostowtt is 42-40 in his career at the Mount, tying him with Gustav Lindstrom (42-55, 1989-93) for the No. 7 spot. Phil Holliday (44-47, 2001-05) is sixth on the list. Mostowtt (38-49) has moved into eighth on the Mount's all-time individual doubles wins list as well.
Rookies Shining: Freshmen Matthew Blake, Taylor Place and Mike Salomon have bolstered the Mount's lineup this season. Salomon is playing at No. 2 singles and leads the Mount in singles wins this season (12-7). Blake is playing at No. 6 singles and is an impressive 10-3 on the season while Place is playing at No. 5 singles with a 11-7 mark in 2009-10. The trio has combined for a 33-17 record in singles action on the year.
For Comparisons Sake: The Mount men's team is 7-6 this season in dual matches, more than doubling last year's win total. The Mount's seven dual match wins this year are the most since the 2006-07 team went 8-13. The last year the Mount had a winning record was 2005-06 when the team finished 13-12.
