Mount Swimming & Diving Teams Host La Salle on Senior Day this Saturday

Saturday, January 26 | 1:00 p.m.
Emmitsburg, Maryland | Mount Swimming Pool

Mount St. Mary's will honor the eight seniors from the women's swimming & diving team with a ceremony prior to Saturday's meet. Seniors Alyssa Felos, Lauren Gullickson, Ashley Kegley, Mary Lombardi, Cassie Mann, Meghan McCarthy, Maddie McGraw, and Laci Vickery will be recognized for their contributions to the swimming & diving program and the university throughout their time at the Mount.

The women's team, which owns a 5-1 dual meet record on the year, returns to competition for the first time since December 1 at the Loyola H2ounds Invitational. The Mountaineers earned a fifth-place showing at the invite to round out the fall semester. Maddie McGraw paced the squad with a fourth-place finish in the 100 free (53.30) and a 10th-place showing in the 200 IM (2:12.34). Jordan Friedman posted a pair of 11th-place finishes in the 200 IM (2:14.65) and 100 free (54.25). Alyssa Felos also placed 11th in the 200 breast (2:30.89), and Maggie deTar took 11th in the 400 IM (4:45.37). In the diving portion, Laci Vickery notched the team's top score in the 1-meter (151.35).

The men's squad will also see its first action since the Loyola H2ounds Invitational, which the Mountaineers placed fifth at. The Mount broke a pair of school records in relay events on the final day of the invite. The squad of Brock Cudahy, Peter Jones, Ryan Griffiths and Will Twizell posted a time of 1:26.37 in the 200 free relay to narrowly eclipse the previous Mount record of 1:26.38, which was set last season at the CCSA Championships. The second school record to fall on Sunday came in the 200 medley relay, as Jonathan Mata, Twizell, Ryan Carroll and Cudahy combined for a time of 1:33.69, which broke the previously-held mark of 1:34.19 set by the same relay team earlier this year at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational.

The Mountaineers close out regular season competition with a dual meet at Loyola on Saturday, February 2 at 1 p.m.
