Men’s Swimming & Diving Finishes Seventh at CCSA Championships

Athens, Ga. (February 15, 2018) – The Mount St. Mary's University men's swimming & diving team finished in seventh place at the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Championships, as they closed out the final night of competition on Saturday at Gabrielson Natatorium.


The Mountaineers had three swimmers collect points in the 200 breast on Saturday, led by Will Twizell, who took seventh place with a time of 2:04.64. John Wilson finished in 15th-place in 2:08.30, and Aidan McCormick touched the wall in 2:08.58 for a 16th-place showing.

Nicholas Starvaggi was the Mount's lone competitor in the 1650 free, finishing in 13th with a time of 16:43.14.

Brock Cudahy, Twizell, Wilson and John Carroll closed out the night with a seventh-place finish in the 400 free relay, clocking in at 3:10.46.

University of Incarnate Word won the championships with 849 team points, while Old Dominion (705 pts) and Gardner-Webb (646.5) rounded out the top three. Florida Atlantic (506.5) took fourth place, NJIT (206) finished in fifth, Howard (198) posted a sixth-place finish, and the Mount (174) took seventh.
