Men’s Swimming & Diving Closes Out Day Two of CCSA Championships

Athens, Ga. (February 15, 2018) – The Mount St. Mary's University men's swimming & diving team closed out day two of the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Championships on Thursday night from Gabrielson Natatorium on the campus of the University of Georgia.


The Mount's top individual finish of day two came from Will Twizell, who posted an eight-place showing in the 200 IM with a time of 1:51.37. John Wilson placed 13th in the event in 1:56.44, and Aidan McCormick took 14th place with a time of 1:58.07.

In the 3-meter diving event, Eiann Bulatao claimed a 10th-place showing with a score of 149.60.

Closing out the night, Brock Cudahy, Thomas de Xavier, Twizell and Wilson combined to swim the 200 free relay in 1:26.38 to claim seventh place. The Mount's 'B' relay squad of John Mata, Max Blake, Ian Schirra and Ethan Pham posted a time of 1:29.19 in the event.

Mount St. Mary's sits in seventh place in the team standings with 84 points through the opening two days of the championships. University of Incarnate Word occupies the top spot with 324 points, while Old Dominion (305 pts.) and Florida Atlantic (210) round out the top three spots.

The CCSA Championships will continue on Friday, February 16 at 10:00 a.m., starting with the 100-yard butterfly preliminaries. The event finals for day two will start at 6:00 p.m.
