Men’s Swimming & Diving Falls at La Salle

Philadelphia, Pa. (January 27, 2018) – The Mount St. Mary's men's swimming & diving team fell by a 100-69 margin at La Salle in a Saturday afternoon meet at Kirk Pool.


The Mount took the top three spots in the 100 free, led by a first-place showing from Roland Edge in 55.57. Matt Wehmeyer earned second place with a time of 56.42, and Jason Dyson placed third in 59.75.

John Wilson, Aidan McCormick and Ian Schirra also earned 1-2-3 in the 200 breast. Wilson clocked in at 2:15.09 for first place, McCormick took second in 2:17.06 and Schirra earned a third-place showing with a time of 2:20.73.

In the 200 fly, Matt Hart and Thomas de Xavier placed 2-3 with times of 2:10.22 and 2:14.45, respectively. The Mount also took 2-3 in the 200 back as Ryan Carroll earned second in 2:02.83, and John Mata placed third with a time of 2:06.86.

The relay squad of Mata, Carroll, de Xavier and Max Blake closed things out with a first-place finish in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:30.75.

The Mount closes out the regular season with a meet at Loyola on Saturday, February 3 at 1 p.m.
