Mount St. Mary’s Swimming & Diving Set for Loyola Invitational

The Mount St. Mary's men's and women's swimming & diving teams close out the fall semester with competition at the Loyola H2Ounds Invitational spanning December 1-2 at the Mangione Pool. Action begins on Friday at 5 p.m. Mount St. Mary's, Loyola, Iona, Marist and Saint Peter's will be the five teams competing at the invitational.

The Mount women's squad opened the campaign with five straight wins for the best start to a season in program history. After a pair of victories over VMI on the opening weekend, the Mount followed with wins over Monmouth (146-116), Saint Peter's (134-57) and Howard (117-106). Two weekends ago, the Mountaineers placed third out of 13 teams at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational.

The men's team earned its first win in program history back in early October, a 119-95 victory over VMI, and followed it up with a 134-128 win over Monmouth the following weekend. They currently sit at 2-4 overall in dual meets this season. Last time out at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational, the Mountaineers registered a 3rd-place showing out of 11 teams.

On November 22 it was announced that the Mount men's swimming & diving team will join the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) and will compete at the upcoming 2018 championships. For the full article, click here.

The Mountaineers are off from competition for the rest of the fall semester before heading out to Orlando, Fla. for their annual training trip in early January. They open the spring semester with a dual meet at home against St. Francis Brooklyn on January 14.
