Men’s Swimming & Diving Finishes Third at Franklin & Marshall Invitational

Lancaster, Pa. (November 19, 2017) – The Mount St. Mary's University men's swimming & diving team finished in third place at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational as competition wrapped up on Sunday night.


Delaware won the invite with 1625 team points, while Washington & Lee finished in second (1202.5 pts) and the Mount came in third (912) out of 11 teams.

Will Twizell posted the team's top finish on the final night of competition, claiming second place in the 100 breast in 56.52. Aidan McCormick finished fourth (58.31) in the event and John Wilson swam to a seventh-place showing (59.06). Wilson also placed fourth in the 200 IM (1:57.94) to collect a pair of top-seven finishes on the night.

The Mount had two swimmers finish in the top-10 of the 100 free, with Brock Cudahy leading the way in fifth place with a time of 47.43. John Mata posted a 10th-place finish in a time of 47.81.

In the 500 free, Nicholas Starvaggi was the Mount's top finisher, touching the wall in 4:49.64 to take seventh place.

The Mount's relay squad of Ryan Carroll, Cudahy, Twizell and Wilson closed out the meet with a fifth-place showing in the 400 free relay, clocking in at 3:11.15.

The Mount wraps up fall semester competition at the Loyola Invitational spanning December 3-4.
