Men’s Swimming & Diving Falls to Saint Peter’s and NJIT

Newark, N.J. (October 14, 2017) – The Mount St. Mary's University men's swimming & diving team suffered a pair of losses at the hands of Saint Peter's (137-68) and NJIT (135-70) in a double dual meet on Saturday at the Fleisher Athletic Center.


Mount swimmers registered top-three finishes in three different individual events on the day, highlighted by the 200 IM, which saw a pair of Mountaineers place among the top three. Will Twizell posted a second-place showing with a time of 2:00.94, while Ryan Carroll took third in the event, clocking in at 2:02.86. Carroll also raced to a third-place finish in the 100 fly with a time of 54.41.

Brock Cudahy posted top-three showings in both the 100 and 200 freestyles for the Mount. The sophomore placed second in the 100 free in 49.64, and took third place in the 200 free, touching the wall in 1:49.96.

The relay squad of Cudahy, Carroll, Ethan Pham and John Wilson closed out the meet by earning second place in the 800 free relay in 7:26.38.

The Mountaineers are off from competition until November 3, when they travel to Howard for a dual meet at 6 p.m.
