Emmitsburg, Md. (June 26, 2019)—Eight home games highlight the 2019 Mount St. Mary's men's soccer schedule, announced today. The Mount opens the season at home against Winthrop on Sunday, September 1, at 1:00 p.m.
Prior to the official home opener, the Mountaineers will host a pair of exhibition games to prepare for the 2019 season. The Mount will host Saint Joseph's on Sunday, August 18, at 2:30 p.m. and West Virginia on Saturday, August 24, at 2:00 p.m. in exhibition games ahead of the home opener against Winthrop.
After the opening game, the Mount will head out on the road for five of the next six games, starting at Bucknell on September 6. The Mount will also have games at Howard (September 10), Army West Point (September 17) and James Madison (September 21) during that stretch, and will open Northeast Conference play at Robert Morris on September 27. The lone home game over the six-game span will be against Navy on Saturday, September 14, at 7:00 p.m.
October kicks off a four-game homestand for the Mountaineers that begins on Sunday, October 6, when St. Francis Brooklyn visits Waldron Family Stadium for a 1:00 p.m. match. The rest of the homestand includes games against Loyola (October 8), Central Connecticut (October 11) and American (October 15).
The remainder of the schedule will be NEC matchups, with four of the final six games on the road. The Mount heads to Sacred Heart on October 18, before a two-game trip to Bryant (October 25) and Merrimack (October 27). The final two home games of the year are against Saint Francis U (November 1) and Long Island (November 3), with the final game of the regular season at Fairleigh Dickinson on November 10.
