Emmitsburg, Md. (August 8, 2018) -- The Mount St. Mary's University men's soccer program made its return to campus on Wednesday as the team took part in the first official practice ahead of the 2018 campaign. The men's soccer program, which was discontinued following the 2012 season, is set to compete for the first time in six years, and will be led by former University of Central Florida Head Coach Bryan Cunningham.
Cunningham, who got to see his full squad together for the first time this fall, commented "18 months of prep work and everything went off great today. I was thoroughly impressed with the players maturity and professionalism. The players are back fit, and the chemistry was better than expected given the newness of the team. I am excited for the growth potential over the next two weeks of preseason, and carrying on into the regular season."
The Mountaineers open the 2018 regular season with a match against Bucknell on August 24 at 7 p.m. at Waldron Family Stadium.
