South Kent, Conn. (September 17, 2019)--The Mount St. Mary's men's golf team closed out the Hartford Hawk Invitational held at the Bull's Bridge Golf Club by shooting a team score of 321 in the third round today. Michael Robinson posted a team-best score of 77 to lead the Mountaineers.
Central Florida took home the team title with a three-round score of 840, followed by TCU (856), Seton Hall (861), Rider (862), Connecticut (867), Fairleigh Dickinson (871), Sacred Heart (876), UT-Rio Grande Valley (877), Hartford (879), Fairfield (889), Bryant (903), Hofstra (913), Wagner (943), Fordham (949), Mount St. Mary's (950) and St. Francis Brooklyn (987).
Freshman Sergio Quijano Sanin posted a three-round score of 238 (80-78-80) to lead the Mountaineers with fellow freshman Mitchell Gallo right behind with a score of 239 (74-84-81). Freshman Joe Lostumbo shot a 241 (77-81-83) with sophomore Matthew Kephart recording a 248 (83-81-84). Michael Robinson missed the first round due to injury, but recorded scores of 75 and 77 in the final two rounds of the tournament. Joshua Brown competed as an individual for the Mount, recording a 253 (88-76-89).
Seton Hall's Wenliang Xie won the individual title with a three-round total of 206 (-10), finishing one shot ahead of Fairleigh Dickinson's Melan Dhaubhadel (207).
The Mount men's golf team returns to action on September 20-22 at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate held at the Kilmarlic Golf Club in Powells Point, N.C.
