The Mount St. Mary's men's basketball team has been picked to finish 10th in the Northeast Conference in a Preseason poll of the league's head coaches. Defending champion Monmouth has been tabbed as the league favorite.
Monmouth garnered six of the possible 11 first-place votes to edge out Robert Morris in the poll. Long Island was selected to finish third, Central Connecticut State and Quinnipiac were tied for fourth, followed by Wagner, Fairleigh Dickinson, St. Francis (N.Y.), Sacred Heart, Mount St. Mary's and St. Francis (Pa.).
The Mount finished fourth in the NEC last year after posting an 11-7 mark in the conference. It was the Mount's best finish in the league since the 1995-96 season.
