Emmitsburg, Md. (October 24, 2006)--Team Blue downed Team White, 62-55, in the annual Mount St. Mary's men's basketball Blue-White Scrimmage on Tuesday afternoon at Knott Arena. Freshman Jeremy Goode paced all players with 19 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
The scrimmage consisted of three 10-minute periods with players switching teams throughout. Freshman point guard Jeremy Goode led all scorers with 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field and 4-of-6 shooting from three-point range. The 5-9 guard added seven rebounds and six assists in the scrimmage. Fellow freshmen Will Holland and Kelly Beidler also had strong debuts for the Mount. Holland had 13 points on 3-of-7 shooting from three-point range while Beidler hit 5-of-7 from the field en route to 12 points.
Starting point guard Joey Butler tallied 11 points, five assists and three steals in the game while Jason Loughry added 11 points and six rebounds. Sam Atupem and Chris Vann added 10 points each.
The two teams combined to hit 11-of-27 (.409) from three-point range and were 46-of-85 (.541) from the field.
The Mount opens the 2006-07 season on Friday, Nov. 10, at West Virginia.
