The Mount St. Mary's baseball team was topped 9-4 by Sacred Heart in home season finale on Saturday afternoon at E.T. Straw Family. Freshman Trevor Leamerled the Mount after he went 3-for-4 with one run scored. 

Alex Kriss tallied two more runs batted in and one double on the day that moved his team leading season RBI total to 48 and his team leading doubles to 15. Myles Nicholson and Thomas Bramleyadded the two other RBIs of the ballgame for the Mount St. Mary's. Bramley filled the stat sheet with two runs scored, one RBI, and his fifth homer of the year. Eight different Mountaineers tabbed at least one hit in the loss. Ryan Florio and Andrew Malone combined to throw 3.1 shutout frames in relief for the Mount.

Penn State responded to a 2-0 shutout loss to Ohio State with a 10-6 victory in the second game of a Big Ten baseball doubleheader Saturday on Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium. Penn State (21-24, 4-18 Big Ten) concluded its conference schedule and will finish the 2019 season with four non-conference games. The Nittany Lion win in the series finale snapped a seven-game losing streak against Ohio State (27-24, 9-12 Big Ten).

Penn State scored Big Ten season high-matching 10 runs on a season-high 14 hits, while RHP Conor Larkin (4-2) struck out a career-high 10 in six innings, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks. The bottom five hitters on the Nittany Lion lineup card all enjoyed multi-hit games and went 11-for-21 with eight RBIs and all 10 runs scored. Six of the 14 hits were doubles, matching a season-high previously set in a win at Pitt on March 12

Mount St. Mary's and Penn State have met just five times in the past with the Nittany owning a 3-2 record against the Mount with all of the games being played at University Park, Pa. Last season, Penn State topped the Mountaineers 7-2 on April 18th.
