Mount in the NEC Tournament
Mount St. Mary's qualified for the NEC Tournament by finishing in fourth place in the league standings with a 15-13 mark. It marks the fourth time the Mountaineers have made the NEC Tournament in 29 seasons in the league. The last time the Mount was in the NEC Tournament was in 2008, when the team won the title as the No. 4 seed.

The Mount St. Mary's baseball team dropped the series finale against Bryant on Friday afternoon. With the win, the Bulldogs took the series, two games to one. The Mountaineer offense was led by junior Patrick Causa who went 3 for 3 with a double and two of the Mount's three runs batted in. Freshman Myles Nicholson had a good game going 2 for 2 with a run scored in the loss. Senior Mitch Sgrignoli finished his career at E.T. Straw Family Stadium with an infield single to third base during his last at bat. Another senior, Jesse Archambault pitched 2.0 solid innings in relief while striking out three Bryant batters. With the loss, the Mount finished the regular season 21-31 with a Northeast Conference (NEC) mark of 15-13, while the Bulldogs finished the 2018 regular season at 31-21-1 with a 22-7 mark in NEC play. The Mountaineers enter the NEC tournament as the No. 4 seed and will take on top-seeded Bryant on Thursday.

Bryant claimed a share of its seventh-straight Northeast Conference Regular Season Championship with an 18-3 victory over Mount St. Mary's on Friday afternoon. The Bulldogs finished the regular season 31-21-1 with a 22-7 mark in NEC play. With the win, the Black and Gold have now won the NEC Regular Season Title every year since 2012. In total, Bryant has won eight regular season titles in its nine years as a full NEC member. Bryant finished tied for first place with Wagner but will serve as the No. 1 seed in next week's NEC Tournament due to tiebreaker procedures. It will be the sixth-straight year Bryant will serve as the No. 1 seed. Friday's victory was spearheaded by three hits from senior Mickey Gasper and three hits and four RBI from sophomore James Ciliento, backing up a 10-strikeout performance from senior Jack Patterson. 

Wagner finished the regular season with a program-best 36 wins (36-16) while setting a new program record for Northeast Conference (NEC) wins, securing their 21st league victory (21-7). Additionally, with the Seahawks completing the three-game sweep of Sacred Heart, Wagner clinched a share of the NEC Regular Season Championship, along with Bryant. This marks the second time in program history that the Green & White have captured the regular season title. Wagner will be the No. 2 seed in the upcoming NEC Tournament and face No. 3 seed, LIU Brooklyn.

On Friday, LIU swept a doubleheader over Fairleigh Dickinson, winning by scores of 10-5 and 10-2, and accomplished a significant program milestone with each victory. With the win in game one, the Blackbirds earned the school's first NEC Championship Tournament berth since 2013, and with the second win, the team tied the school record for wins in a season with 28. The Blackbirds (28-24, 16-12 NEC) clinched the number three seed in the four-team double elimination tournament beginning next Thursday, May 24 at Dodd Stadium in Norwich, Conn.

Mount St. Mary's and Bryant have met 38 times in series history with the Bulldogs holding a 34-4 advantage. Bryant won this year's season series, four games to two. The Mountaineers picked up one win at Bryant and one win on their home field.

Wagner owns a 59-41 advantage in the all-time series with the Mount as the two programs have met 100 times in series history. The Seahawks swept the Mount in a four game series early in the year on their home field.

Mount St. Mary's and LIU Brooklyn have met 96 times in series history with the Blackbirds holding a 62-34 advantage. The two teams split the four game series in Emmitsburg this year.
