Punta Gorda, Fla. (March 2, 2018) - The Mount St. Mary's baseball team fell 13-2 to Presbyterian on Friday afternoon. Sean Kelly stayed hot with another multi-hit game and a run scored. Sean Flynn pitched one inning, gave up no hits, no runs, and struck out one batter in relief for the Mountaineers.
The Mount grabbed the early lead by scoring one run in the bottom of the second. After Thomas Savastio was hit by a pitch and advanced to third on two straight wild pitches, he was plated by another wild pitch for the first run of the game. Mount St. Mary's could only muster one more run on the board for the day. After Sean Kelly doubled, Myles Nicholson brought Kelly home to cross the plate with a single.
Presbyterian scored in all of the innings except for the first, second, and ninth and totaled 13 runs on 16 hits. PC put up six runs in two innings, scoring three runs in the top of the third and three more in the top of the fourth. After the Mount scored their second run of the game, Presbyterian plated six unanswered runs to end the game....two runs in the sixth inning, two runs in the seventh inning, and two more runs in the eighth inning. Presbyterian was led by Andrew Bladt, TJ Richardson, and Guy Casaceli, who combined for 10 hits, three RBI's, and seven runs scored.
Andrew Malone (0-1) received the loss for the Mountaineers and Eric Myles (3-1) picked up the win for Presbyterian on the day.
Mount St. Mary's is back in action Saturday, March 3 when they take on Georgetown at 3:00 PM to end the Snowbird Classic.
