THE ALL-TIME SERIES:  Bryant holds a 10-2 lead in the all-time series with the Mount that began in 2010.  The Mount won the first two meetings in 2010, but Bryant has won the past 10 matchups between the two schools.  Last year, the Bulldogs posted a four-game sweep at the Mount, sweeping a pair of doubleheaders.  The Mount has scored just 22 runs against Bryant over the past 10 games.

LAST YEAR'S SERIES:  Bryant swept a four-game series at the Mount last year, winning a pair of doubleheaders.  Mark Quaranta went 5-for-15 (.333) at the plate to pace the Mount offense, which was held to a .206 average and 13 runs in the four-game set.  Mike Delponte went 10-for-16 (.625) with three home runs and eight RBI for the Bulldogs while Kevin Brown was 8-for-19 (.421) with four home runs and eight RBI in the series.

NEC OPENERS:  The Mount begins its 24th season in the Northeast Conference with its four-game series at Bryant.  The Mountaineers have lost their past three NEC openers and are 6-17 all-time in the opening game of NEC play.  The Mount was swept by Bryant in last year's opening series, but the Mount has posted a .500 or better record in the NEC opening series in six of the past seven seasons.

ON THE BASEPATHS:  Jay Knight leads the Mount and is 12th in the nation with 13 steals this season.  He is fifth in the country in steals per game (0.93) and his 21 career steals are tied for eighth all-time at the Mount.  Knight is tied for seventh on the Mount's single-season list with 13 steals.  Among those with 13 steals in a season is current Mount St. Mary's men's basketball coach Jamion Christian, who had 13 stolen bases in 2002.  The school single-season record is 18 stolen bases by Matt Rueckert in both 1991 and 1992.

POWER SURGE:  Senior first baseman Sam Nott leads the Mount with five home runs and 19 RBI so far this season. Nott is ninth in the nation with 0.36 home runs per game and 18th with 1.36 RBI per game.  Nott is hitting .294 on the year, and leads the team in slugging percentage (.627), on-base percentage (.438) and OPS (1.065).

QUARANTA MOVING UP HIT LIST:  Senior Mark Quaranta has moved into 10th place on the Mount's all-time hit list with 158 career hits.  He needs four hits to move past Matt Eiden (161) and Dennis Jenks (159) for eighth on the career hit list.  Quaranta is 12th all-time with a career .320 average, 14th with 31 doubles and 13th with 59 walks.  This season, Quaranta is hitting .304 with four doubles, 12 runs scored and 13 RBI while starting all 14 contests.
