Women’s Rugby to Face-Off at Princeton in Road Matchup

EMMITSBURG, Md. (September 8th, 2023) – The Mountaineers return to action this weekend against the Princeton Tigers at West Windsor Fields in a gritty afternoon match.
 
MOUNT UPDATE
 
Women's rugby is coming off an 18-0 loss at Long Island University over the weekend. The season-opener was a match marked for improvement from last season. The team accomplished goals of their own in consistent team play. The team and new head coach Maggie Myles assisted by Lance Connolly look to steal the Tigers' home-opener in Princeton, New Jersey.
 
SCOUTING PRINCETON
 
The Tigers lost their opening match against Brown, 86-0. Regardless of the score, the Tigers are happy with their program's development, they have stated that they achieved internal goals and have optimism toward the potential of their rugby program. They will host their home-opener against the Mountaineers in what is anticipated to be a great matchup.
 
HISTORY WITH PRINCETON
 
The Mountaineers are 2-3 on the pitch against the Tigers. The last matchup between these two programs ended in a Mount St. Mary's home win, 77-10, on October 15th, 2022. A game where Sankara Price scored two tries and Kameka President scored one while the whole team was clicking on both offense and defense.
