Leesburg, Va. (September 29, 2012)--Megan Kinsella finished in 13th place to lead the Mount men's and women's cross country teams at the George Mason Invitational held at Oatlands Plantation in Leesburg, Va., on Saturday.
Kinsella led the women by finishing in 13th place in a time of 23:25.5 for the 6-kilometer course. McKenzie Doyle was 17th (23:38.4) and Megan Schott 20th (23:47.0) in the field of 80 runners. Madeline Rico (43rd, 24:58.4) and Desi Scott (56th, 25:45.0) rounded out the top five runners.
The Mount women finished in fifth place in the seven team field, behind LaSalle (18), George Mason (84), George Washington (90) and UMBC (108). The Mount followed with 117 points with American (148) and Saint Bonaventure (156) rounding out the field.
On the men's side, Tommy Gruschow was the Mount's top finisher, placing 41st with a time of 26:54.3 for the 8-kilomter course. Chris Swisko was 51st in a time of 27:24.2 with Chris Jewell placing 57th (27:39.4). The top five was rounded out by Kevin Pitts (73rd, 289:29.4) and Jesse Albright (75th, 28:30.0).
LaSalle won with meet with 28 points, followed by George Mason (41), American (74), UMBC (111), George Washington (128), the Mount (178) and Saint Bonaventure (217).
