Top Moment No. 20: Bernard And Kinsella Continue All-NEC Honors At NEC Cross Country Championships

EMMITSBURG, Md. – We start our countdown with a model of consistency.  Junior Dylan Bernard and sophomore Megan Kinsella continued their streak as top runners at the Northeast Conference (NEC) Cross Country Championships, earning All-NEC honors for the third and second times, respectively, to grab the No. 20 Moment in our 2010-11 Top-20 Moments Countdown.

Bernard has earned All-NEC honors in his first three seasons as a member of the Mount cross country team after finishing sixth at the 2010 NEC Cross Country Championships with a time of 25:53.9 on the 8-kilometer course. The junior finished fifth with a time of 27:01.7 in 2008 and ninth with a time of 26:49.4 in 2009 to garner three All-NEC honors. Bernard looks to go 4-for-4 at the NEC Championships in 2011 and to become the first Mount runner to earn All-NEC honors all four years since Matt Logie (2005-08).

Kinsella earned her second-straight All-NEC honors after finishing 13th on the women's side with a time of 18:27.1 on the five-kilometer course. The sophomore burst onto the scene as a freshman in 2009 to finish second at the NEC Cross Country Championships with a time of 18:14.9 to also earn NEC Rookie of the Year honors, which earned Kinsella the No. 6 Moment in the 2009-10 Top-15 Countdown.

The men's and women's cross country teams both finished seventh at the NEC Cross Country Championships in 2010.
