ABOUT THE MOUNT
The Mount St. Mary's women's tennis team split matches at St. Francis Brooklyn and Wagner in two mid-week matchups. The Mount topped the Terriers 6-1 on Wednesday but was edged 4-3 by Wagner on Thursday.The Mountaineers swept SFB in doubles action to earn the one point advantage from doubles play. Alexa Quintanilla/Hannah Davis blanked Andrea Rojo/Runsi Patro 6-0 in the first flight, Sruthi Kamprath/Megan Smith edged Laura Dimante/Sara Stankovic 7-5 in the second flight, and in the number three flight, Megan Gamble/Emma Blake topped Jean-na Koo/Ana Orozco 6-2. In singles action, Mount St. Mary's took five of the six flights to secure the match victory. Quintanilla topped Dimante 6-0, 6-1 in the first flight to start things off for the Mount and Megan Smith defeated Patro 7-5, 6-3 to wrap things up in the fifth flight.

The Mountaineers, again, swept doubles action against Wagner to take the early one point lead from doubles competition. Quintanilla/Davis topped Anand/Baynes 7-5 in the first flight of doubles and Gamble/Blake edged Cumpa/Gibson 7-6 in the third flight to secure the doubles point. The Seahawks climbed back into the match by winning the first, third, and fifth flight to even the match at three points apiece. Wagner ended up winning the last flight in order to squeak by and pick up the match victory. Davis and Gamble recorded flight wins for the Mount in the second and fourth flight. Davis topped Baynes 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 and Gamble edged Hodges 7-5, 5-7, 7-5. The Mount St. Mary's women move to 3-11 on the year with a 1-2 record in Northeast Conference (NEC) play.
