Mount St. Mary's Women's Tennis Set For Match At Navy Saturday

ABOUT THE MOUNT
The Mount was downed 5-2 by George Mason last Sunday. George Mason started out the match winning the sixth, first, and third singles flights before freshman, Megan Smith defeated Kayleigh Hahn in the fifth flight. Smith won the first set 6-2 but Hahn won the second set 3-6 to force a third tie-breaker set where Smith picked up the flight victory with the set win 10-7. Christine McCarthy won the fourth flight for George Mason to secure the overall match victory. Senior, Sruthi Kamprath picked up a victory in flight two by topping Brianna Gibbs in three sets (5-7, 6-1, 11-9) for the Mount's second point of the match. The sophomore pairing of Alexa Quintanilla and Hannah Davis edged George Mason's Sydney Green and Hannah Cianciola 6-4 in the number one doubles flight. The Patriots took the second and third flights for the doubles point. The Mountaineers fall to an 0-2 record and George Mason goes to 1-0 to start off the spring season.
