Mount Women's Tennis Picked Sixth in Preseason Coaches Poll

Mount St. Mary's was picked to finish in sixth place by the NEC coaches in the annual preseason coaches poll. 

Defending champion Fairleigh Dickinson was picked to finish on top again this year, receiving six of the 11 first place votes. Quinnipiac who received two first place votes was picked second, followed by Bryant who received the last three first place votes. They were followed by LIU Brooklyn, Sacred Heart, then the Mount in sixth place. St. Francis U, Monmouth, Robert Morris, Wagner and St. Francis Brooklyn rounded out the rest of the conference. 

Bryant joins the conference for the first time in tennis for the 2012-13 season.

The Mount finished in third place last year, after losing to LIU Brooklyn in the NEC Quarterfinals 4-0. The Mount followed that up by defeating Monmouth 5-0 in the consolation round. 

The women's tennis team opens up their spring season on February 17, when they travel to Lehigh. First serve for the match at Lehigh is at 2:00 p.m.
