Women's Tennis Corrals the Broncs, 7-0 on Sunday Afternoon

Emmitsburg, Md. (October 21, 2012)-- The Mount St. Mary's women's tennis team beat Rider 7-0 on Sunday to move to 2-1 on the young season. The Mount won all three doubles and all six singles matches en route to an easy win.

In doubles action, Sam Pinchoff and Kelly Conroy got the winning started with an 8-3 win at the No. 1 spot over Marly Roche and Michelle Caravaglio. The Senior duo of Renee Deane and Carly Landini won 8-3 at the No. 2 spot over Jaclyn Giameo and Cynthia Vlad. Taylor D'Agostino and Danielle Nguyen also picked up a win at the No. 3 spot. The sophomore tandem won 8-1 over Kim Leder and Annette Frankowski. 

Singles play saw a slew of Mount victories. Pinchoff won at No.1 with a 7-5, 6-0 win over Roche. Conroy was next up with an impressive 6-1, 6-1 win over Caravaglio. Deane picked up a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Vlad at the No. 3 spot. Senior Carly Landini won at the No. 4 spot over Leder 6-1, 6-0. Junior Liz Rossi and sophomore Jenny Smith picked up 6-0, 6-0 wins at the No. 5 and 6 spot respectively. Rossi downed Giameo while Smith displaced Frankowski.

The women return to action February 17 when they travel to Lehigh.
