Towson Upends Women's Tennis, 5-2

Emmitsburg, Md. (October 4)-- The Mount St. Mary's women's tennis team lost to Towson 5-2 on Thursday afternoon. The Tigers won two of the three doubles matches, and four of the six singles matches to earn the win.

The senior tandem of Carly Landini and Renee Deane defeated Ayana Dow and Ariel Burke at the No. 2 doubles spot. The duo won 9-7. Towson took the other two doubles matches.

In singles play, Landini picked up another win at the No. 4 spot. Landini defeated Andrea Samlin in a three set thriller, coming from behind. Landini won 2-6, 6-3, 10-8. Fellow senior Kelly Conroy also earned a win at the No. 2 singles spot. Conroy won 6-2, 6-0 over Towson's Ayana Dow. 

The Mount women return to action Sunday, October 21 when they host Rider. The match with the Broncs is set to begin at 12:00 PM.
