Women's Tennis Drops Two At First Day of Tiger Classic
St. Joe's 5- Mount St. Mary's 0
The Mount lost all five matches en route to a 5-0 loss to open the Tiger Classic. The match started off with Casey Robinson and Kristina Eisenbrand downing the duo of Renee Deane and Jenny Smith. Robinson and Eisenbrand won 6-2, 6-2.
In singles action, the Hawks took all four matches in straight sets. Devi Jadeja downed Sam Pinchoff at the No. 1 spot 6-0, 6-1. Aurora Davis defeated Kelly Conroy 7-5, 6-1. Senior Carly Landini was defeated by Lauren Roy at the No. 3 spot, 6-3, 6-2. Finally Liz Rossi was downed 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 4 spot.
Delaware 4- Mount St. Mary's 1
The doubles match saw the Blue Hens down the Mountaineers 6-0, 6-1. The team of Dorothy Saffron and Carmen Lai defeated sophomore Taylor D'Agostino and freshman Isabella Draper in her first collegiate match.
In singles action, Senior Kelly Conroy picked up a win at the No. 2 spot, with a 5-7, 6-1, 10-8 victory over Nataliya Naumova. Delware took the other three matches to take the victory. Danea Jonjic picked up a win over Pinchoff, 6-2, 6-1. Danielle Nguyen lost in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0 to Olivia Heim. Renee Deane took Kim Milla to three sets, but lost 7-5, 4-6, 10-8.
