EMMITSBURG, Md. – Mount St. Mary's women's swimmers Courtney Griffith and Patricia Yam made history in 2010-11 by becoming the first All-Northeast Conference performers in program history. The duo returned to the podium again in 2011-12, but freshman Erin Regan stole the stage by becoming the first Mount swimmer to win an event at the NEC Swimming & Diving Championships and also take home Rookie of the Meet honors to dive into the No. 8 spot on our 2011-12 Top-20 Countdown.
Regan won the 200 fly at the NEC Swimming and Diving Championships with a time of 2:04.03 for the program's first-ever first-place finish at the championships. She also finished second in the 100 fly with a time of 56.96 to earn All-NEC first and second-team honors to also become the Mountaineer to earn NEC Rookie of the Meet honors.
Prior to Regan's top performance in the 200 fly, Griffith had the best standing in program history with a second-place standing in the 100 fly in 2010-11. The junior placed third in the 50 free (23.84) and third in the 100 fly (57.30) to earn All-NEC third-team honors and now has a program-record three all-conference selections. Yam, who finished third in the 200 fly as a sophomore, placed third in the event as a junior to nab her second-straight All-NEC third-team selection. Griffith and Yam are the only swimmers in team history to earn back-to-back conference honors. Griffith and Yam were the No. 14 Moment in the 2010-11 Top-20 Countdown.
Mount St. Mary's finished fifth in the NEC Swimming & Diving Championships with a program-record 348 points.
