Malpezzi Named To CoSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District 2 SecondTeam

EMMITSBURG, Md. - Sarah Malpezzi (Hummelstown, Pa./Hershey), a member of the Mount St. Mary's women's soccer, has been named to the CoSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District II second team, announced Tuesday. Malpezzi, who has a 3.72 grade-point average, is majoring in elementary education.

To be eligible for the team, which is voted on by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) members, a player must contribute significantly to his team and have a grade-point average of at least 3.30.

Malpezzi, a junior midfielder, finished the 2010 season with three goals and six assists while starting all 17 games she played this season for the Mountaineers. She scored in the Mount's 3-0 win at Bucknell while adding goals against Saint Francis (Pa.) and Quinnipiac during the season.

For her career, Malpezzi has scored four goals in 48 games for the Mount.
