Mount Update: The Mount opened the season with a 1-0 loss at Navy on Friday night. The Midshipmen scored the game-winning goal on a header off a corner kick with 5:37 left in the game. Goalkeeper Alicia Miller made three saves for the Mount in the loss while Jourdan Brill paced the offense with a pair of shots. The Mount was outshot 10-3 in the game, including 7-1 in the second half.
George Mason Update: George Mason enters Tuesday's game 1-1-0 on the year after falling to Navy, 1-0, in overtime on Sunday. The Patriots defeated Howard, 2-0, in their season opener behind goals from Alyssa Andersen and Zanie Barnum. Goalkeeper Alex Bodenschatz has played both games, posting a 0.48 GAA and a .750 save percentage.

Last Year's Meeting: George Mason rolled to a 6-0 win over the Mount last year in the first-ever meeting between the two teams. Tiana Kallenberger and Leslie Cabe each scored in the first half to give the Patriots a 2-0 advantage. George Mason scored four times over the final 16 minutes to break the game open.
Home Openers: This will be the 19th
home opener in program history for the Mountaineers. The Mount is
4-14-0 all-time in home openers with the last win coming in a 10-0
rout of Delaware State on Aug. 29, 2005. Under head coach Tom
Gosselin, the Mount is 0-3 in home openers with losses to Towson
(3-1 in 2007), Marshall (4-0 in 2008) and Loyola (1-0 in 2009).
Preseason Poll: The Mount was picked to finish ninth in
the annual Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches Poll. Defending
champion Monmouth was tabbed as the league favorite, followed by
Central Connecticut State, Long Island, Quinnipiac, Saint Francis
(Pa.), Sacred Heart, Robert Morris, Bryant, the Mount, Fairleigh
Dickinson and Wagner.
Miller on the All-Time Lists: Junior goalkeeper Alicia Miller has made a name for herself in the Mount's record books. Miller is currently sixth all-time in MSM history with 248 career saves, sixth with a .747 save percentage and seventh with a 2.44 goals against average. She also has four career shutouts (3rd all-time at MSM). On the single season lists, Miller set a school record with 128 saves in 2008 and her 117 saves last year are the fourth-highest single-season total.

Road Happy: The Mount went 4-3-2 on the road last year,
the first time in school history the team has posted a winning
season in away games. Under head coach Tom Gosselin, the Mount has
won eight road games in three years. Over the previous 15 years
since the program began in 1992, the Mount won a combined 19 games
on the road.
Home Sweet Home???: The Mount will be trying to improve its home record this season. The team has compiled a 6-22 record at Waldron Family Stadium since the facility opened in 2006. Last year, the Mount went 2-8-0 at home, losing five one-goal games.
Up Next: The Mount will host VMI on Friday, September 3, at 7:00 p.m. at Waldron Family Stadium on campus. It will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
